Moab Winter Mild as February 2012 Approaches

Moab's Red Hot 33K and 55K are sold out. You can still volunteer for aid stations. Plan to sign up next year. This year the 33k is now a part of La Sportiva Mountain Cup and the 55k is worth 1 point for the North Face Ultra Trail du Mont-Blanc.

Here are eight (2012) known group tours that include a stop in Moab Utah for our inspirational Canyonlands and Arches National Parks. Lassen Tours departs Los Angeles every Saturday from April 7 2012- October 20, 2012 for a 7 day loop to include Antelope Canyon, Lake Powell, Arches National Park, and Monument Valley.

Green Tortoise Adventure Travel departs San Francisco for 16 days; has five departure dates scheduled for 2012 in the summer months. It is the ultimate backpacking and camping holiday looping into Grand Teton, Yellowstone, Zion, Bryce, Grand Canyon, and Arches National Parks. Take Tours by GotoBus departs Denver every Wednesday April 2,8 2012 – October 6, 2012 for 6 days to include Crazy Horse, Mt Rushmore, Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Jackson Hole, Arches National Park, Glenwood Springs and Salt Lake City.

Tours 4 Fun departs Los Angeles for a May 5 – 9, 2012 loop to include Arches National Park, Crazy Horse, Mt Rushmore, Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Jackson Hole, Salt Lake City, Las Vegas.

Travel Dream West departs for 21 day departures with July 28 2012, September 9, 2012 or October 7, 2012. The trip starts in Las Vegas and ends in San Francisco. The itinerary includes Zion, Capitol Reef, Arches & Canyonlands, Mesa Verde, Durango, Monument Valley, Lake Powell, Grand Canyon, Death Valley, and Yosemite.

Mayflower Tours has two 13 day trip departures on May 19 2012 and September 15 2012 for the National Parks of the Southwest – Motorcoach tour. Starts in Iowa to Fort Hays Colorado and a Colorado River raft trip. Includes Colorado National Monument, Arches National Park, Bryce Canyon, Moqui cave and Zion, Grand Canyon North Rim, through Grand Staircase – Escalante National Monument, Amarillo Texas to Oklahoma City and the museum of Western Expansion in St Louis.

Grand American Adventures has five departures in 2012 for a 16 day motorcoach tour which begins in San Francisco to conclude in Las Vegas. The itinerary includes Yosemite, Lake Tahoe, Idaho, Yellowstone, Jackson Hole, Salt Lake City, Arches & Canyonlands, Monument Valley, Grand Canyon, and Zion.

Tauck offers 10 days with the Spirit of the Desert: The National Parks of the Southwest. It begins in Grand Junction Colorado, includes Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park, Capitol Reef, Zion, Bryce, Grand Canyon north Rim and includes two scenic flights.

Singles Travel Company uses the semi-famous Grand Circle for a Western National Parks itinerary to include Vegas, Bryce, Zion, Capitol Reef, Goblin Valley, Arches National Park, Monument Valley Lake Powell, Grand Canyon North Rim and Escalante during May 13-20, 2012.

Dreamlander Tours
provides a shorter round-trip Salt Lake City to Moab adventure, to include rafting, Bar M Chuckwagon and Arches National Park. Dates are July 19-23 and July 26-30 2012.

And if you should decide to carry out a tour of the west’s National Parks on your own, invest in a park pass. You can purchase it at the entrance of your first park. The pass is good for a year from the date of purchase. Also, these dates were shared with us for Free Fee days for 2012.
