Moab Winter Mild as February 2012 Approaches



February 2 2012
Volunteer meeting will be held at the City Center Conference Room (lower level), 217 East Center Street on Thursday evening from 6:30pm to 7:30pm for the February 25 2012 MRAC (Moab Recreation and Aquatic Center) triathlon. Stay tuned for official Event name.

American Institute for Avalanche Research and Education brings the Level 1 Avalanche Course to Moab. Sign up with 435-636-3335. Or come to ski and snowboard in Moab's La Sal Mountains this February. Get a Moab Snow Report.

Moab's Red Hot 33K and 55K are sold out. You can still volunteer for aid stations. Plan to sign up next year. This year the 33k is now a part of La Sportiva Mountain Cup and the 55k is worth 1 point for the North Face Ultra Trail du Mont-Blanc.

Moab Flute Festival takes place at the Moab Arts and Recreation Center starting Saturday at noon through Sunday at 9 PM. Concerts, Workshops and benefit for the Grand County High School Native American Club and Music Program.

And watch for the DOCNA - Dog Agility at the Old Spanish Trail Arena going into March (3rd and 4th 2012). Be a spectator (but leave your own precious pets at home, unless they are trained to compete.)

Come any day in February to go winter bike riding in Moab. Take a look at Moab in February with a 2 year old toddler as blogged by a past February Moab visitor. And how about Geocaching? Yep. Bring your GPS for some hide and seek. Even when Moab gets snow, it isn't all that bad...
